Boxing picks: Ramirez to win on points
Stylistically this is a really interesting match up to decipher who the number one featherweight in the world is.
Ramirez will almost certainly win a traditional boxing match between the two because of his added size and technical attributes, but Dogboe has got great durability and will push the pace hard to ensure he gets the win.
However it simply cannot be forgotten that this is the first time in his rather fledgling professional career that Ramirez is scheduled to go for 12-rounds against a world class opponent, and that could have an effect as we get into the latter stages of the fight.
We don’t know if his speed and movement will hold up for the full 12 rounds, although he looked good when he claimed the stoppage win in the 10th last time out. We know that Dogboe can go the distance and an control fights, but this is a different level.
So far in his career when he’s come up against the best he has fallen short, and this seems like another occasion that will be just too much for him.
Expect Ramirez to use his reach and jab to perfection all night while landing the bigger shots early on, racking up enough of the early rounds that even if he does fall flat later in the fight he can claim the decision in a close fight.
